SHARP RISE IN BEEF. USUAL MONTHLY SALE
The North Auckland Farmers’ Coop. Ltd., report holding their usual bimonthly stock sale at Eamo saleyards yesterday. All classes of cattle showed a sharp rise: Dairy stock 20/ to 25/ a head more and ox beef fully 20/ per head increase. Best dairy cows brought £4 10/ to £5 2/6; medium dairy cows, £3 10/ to £4 7/6; backward and inferior cows, £1 to £3 7/6; best dairy heifers, £4 to £4 12/6; medium dairy heifers, £3 to £3 17/6; backward and inferior heifers, £l. to £2 15/; prime fat bullocks, heavy, £6 15/ to £7 4/; light fat bullocks, £5 7/ to £6 12/; unfinished bullocks, £4 15/ to £5; fat cows, £3 9/ to £4 6/; light and unfinished cows, £2 10/ to 3gns; boner cows, 9/ to 14/; boner bulls, 25/ to 36/; yearling .Ter; sey heifers, 15/ to 22/; fat and‘forward wethers, 22/. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Kamo sale yesterday as follow: A large yarding of dairy cattle came forward which met with competition. on a par with late rates. Beef and store cattle were yarded in more than average numbers, the quality being considerably above the average. Bidding for beef was exceptionally keen and prices showed an advance of 20/ a. head. There was a large and representative attendance from surrounding districts. A small number of sheep was penned and prices were on a par..
