MORE RAIN
WET WEEK-END LIKELY,
LAST NIGHT'S GALE. SCHOOL SPORTS POSTPONED. It looked today as though Whangaroi was in for another wot week-end. Last night was very rough, but there seemed to be more wind than rain, and there should be no fear of any flooding unless the rainfall shows a derided increase. The easterly wind reached gale force during the night, and especially early this morning. The rain came in heavy gusts, and the gauge this morning' registered a fall of 1.0;" inch. This brings the total for the mouth to 7.02 inches, and there are still four more days to go. It does not look we]l for sports tomorrow,- and the Midland Districts Primary Schools’ winter .sports, which were to have been held today, were postponed until Monday.
