FREE MARKETING.
(To the Editor,) Sir, —The great apostle of free exploitation, Mr E. :S. Tremaine, in reply to my letter, seeks to eonvey that Co til in is the friend of the former, not Short, the intense co-operator. He omits to tell ns how free marketing is going to knock out combined buying. 1 have asked that question before, but received no answer, I cordially reciprocate his remark that "national marketing should be the objective," Well, let ns unite forces to that end: the creating- of a. Dairy Board representing the producers, "not the commercial interests." I am pleased to learn that free-marketing is dead and its ashes, scattered over the universe. In conclusion, I assort that we have the power as producers, to strengthen tlie Dairy Board by abolishing the commercial element —the Government nominees, put there by a. thinly disguised excuse, be., "that the farmers of New Zealand cannot manage their own business." The exploiter is supreme under this system, but under an intense co-operative system he will be non est. Advocate that policy, Mr Tremaine. T am with yon to the last, ditch.
