FARMERS’ UNION
WHANGABEI BRANCH. INCREASED INTEREST. There was a larger attendance than usual at tlio annual meeting of the Whangarci. branch of the New Zealand Fanners’ Union. Air A. E. Phillips presided. The election of officers resulted: — President, Air A. E. Phillips (re-elect-ed); vice-president, Air E. Ellen; secretary, Air G. A. Slorrar (re-elected); delegates to the Sub-provincial Executive, Alessrs. Phillips, Ellen and Storrar. An interesting address was given by the Dominion organiser, Air T. E. Jolly, who submitted a report upon his activities in the district. As a result there had been a large increase in union membership, and now brunches Aveve being opened at Wharoora and Parua Bay. Favourable eomment was made upon the working of a protection committee associated with the union in the Northern Wairoa district, and the president was requested to obtain a report upon its operations.
