ABOLITION DEBATE, COSGRAVE AMENDMENT LOST. (Received 9 a.m.) DUBLIN, May 1. In the Dail today, .Mr W. T, Cosgrave moved an amendment to the Senate Abolition Bill to make a throe fifths majority vote In the Dail neces sar\ r for the removal of any member of the .ludiciary. • Mr O’Higgins said that, failing such a precaution,, the. wobbling will of one man would rule the entirp country, and his vindictiveness would decide everyone’s destiny. • Mr Fitzgerald, said that if the Bill were enacted it would,give Mr De Valera more power than a Tsar or any European Government, and would obviate the necessity of his ever again facing the electors, Mr De Valera applied the closure, and the amendment was defeated by 5S votes to 42.
