Wethers: Trade is slow. Eyes: There is a fair demand. Lambs: The demand is not so good. The market is rather easier, and no material change. ms anticipated. Trade generally Is slow. Quotations: Wethers, Tight, 49, A to old per lb; heavy, ■4 1 -Sd to 4id; ewes, 2j}d to 11 d; lambs, twos, 7 3-Sd to 7 7-Sd; eights, (! 7-Sd to 7 1-Sd; fours, G .T-Sd to G 7-Sd; seconds, 7d to 7}d. Ewes are‘meet in# will) a fair demand. Beef: The demand is quiet, owing to continued low prices for Argentine chilled beef. Now Zealand porkers are meeting with a good trade, but at lower prices. Current schedule rates for stock on hooks at freezing works are as follows: Lambs.—36lbs and under, 8d per lb;‘ 37 to 421bs, 7id; over 421bs and seconds, 7d.
Mutton.—-Wethers, up to 481bs, 4fd; 49 to 561bs, 4 3-8 d; 57 to 641bs, 4 l-8d; 65- to 721bs, 3 7-8 d; over 721bs, 3kl; seconds, 33d.. Ewes (in same classes), !Ud, 3)d, 3d, 23_d, and 2-1 d respectively. Beef.—Prime ox, 18/ per lOOlbs; boner bulls, 12/6; cows, 7/ to 7/6.
