LICENSEE PINED.

SALE OF LIQUOR.

“This is only a trivial case,’ *■ ' said Mr G. N. Morris, SAL, in the- Police Court this morning, at the conclusion of the evidence offered against Mary Ellen Morron and John Morron.

.The former was charged that,' at the Kamo Hotel, on March, 16, being a person other than the licensee, she supplied five bottles' of beer to a person not entitled lawfully to be. supplied; and the latter that at the Kamo Hotel, on the same date, he sold five bottles of beer at a time when licensed premises should have been closed. Mr Trimmer entered a plea of guilty for both. Sub-Inspector Powell said that about 10.20 p.m. on the . date in question he and a constable were at Kamo, when they’ saw a ear pull up near the hotel in the Three Mile Bush Road. Ho saw a light go up in the bar. Shortly after he and the constable went into the hotel and saw in the passage a young man with some bottles under his arm. The young man said he had beer. The licensee’s wife, said witness, said the beer had been ordered in the afternoon. John Morron, in evidence, said the beer had been ordered and paid for in the atteruoon, and was left to be called for. Morron and his wife were each fined £2 and costs. ] Arising out of the aame circumstances, two young men, G. Elliott and R. Hill, were . charged with being found in the Kamo Hotel after hours. They pleaded guilty and were fined 10/ and costs each.
