POPPY DAY
RELIEF OF EX-SERVICEMEN.
SATURDAY NEXT,
Poppy Day will be hold next Saturday, when artificial poppies will be sold in the streets of Whangarei in aid of distressed returned soldiers, their wives and families. The sale is being organised by the Empire Ex-ser-vice Association, and sellers will be abroad from 8 in the morning until S at night. Sister Collins, who is in charge cf the proceedings, stated this morning that more volunteers for the selling of the poppies were needed, and those who could undertake this work are invited to apply to her. The depot from which the poppies will bo distributed will be in the County Chambers.
