AUCKLAND, This Day. As is usually the ease with the first enll after vacations, bidding - at the 10 o’clock call of the Auckland Stock Exchange was rather quiet, and no sales were recorded. Quotations put out were generally speaking based on values ruling before the holidays. In the banking section, New ZealUnds commenced with buyers at 48/1, but lowest sellers asked 48/8.
Insurances started confidently, with buyers for all lines at late rates, Auckland Gas shares were wanted at £1 4/0, holders asking £1 V?>. Fanners’ Trading ordinary shares were in demand at 4/7. Government stocks were In keen demand.
