SALE AT BROADWOOD

DECLINE IN CATTLE PRICES About 1000 head of cattle, mostly steers, Avere yarded at Broadwood yesterday and most of the lots offered were sold. Prices were down approximately .10/ a head on last Broadwood sale. Buyers were numerous and representatiA’e, and were present from as far south as Whangarei and Waipu. Cattle had come from as far north as Ahipara. Prices ranged; 34 to 4-year bullocks, up to £4 5/; 18 mouths to 2 years, to £3 6/; fat cows, to £4; .Jersey heifer calves, 19/; coloured aged steers, lo dry store chavs, to 31/; boner hulls, 50/. One line of IS months steers brought £2 15/.

Good yardings came, forward and fair sales resulted, although prices wore inclined lo be easier. Whakapara, Monday.—Fat cows and heifers, £2 to £2; good quality 18months steers, £3 .12/-; boner cows, lb/- to £1 .10/-; bulls, IS/- to £3 10/-; Jersey heifers, r.w.b., £1 8/6 to £1 10/-; good store cows, £1 .10/- to £2; cows and calves, £1 5/- to £4 5/-; dairy cows, £2 to £1; Store lambs, 7/-; weaner pigs, 7/6; slips 13/9.
