PAHI REGATTA AND SPORTS

ALL-ROUND SUCCESS. Ideal weather favoured this timehonoured gathering on Saturday last and that its popularity had not waned was amply demonstrated by the fact that the gate proceeds totalled over ,oSG, which was a record for the history of the club. No fewer than .170 motor cars sped to the pretty harbour resort, which looked at its best with a full tide in the glorious sunshine. The visitors were rewarded by a pleasant outing. Among the gathered throng were noticed the faces of "old timers," whose memories ran back to nearer the pioneer days of the district, and who had taken the opportunity of revisiting Pahi and renewing old . friendships. Keen interest was shown in the various competitions, the aquatic events and the chopping competitions being a special feature of the day. Mr L. H. Farrant again proved himself an efficient and obliging secretary. The day's entertainment closed with a dance in the Whakapirau Hall on the neighbouring side of the river. Music was supplied by an excellent orchestra and there was a large attendance. The results were as follow, — Launch. Races. Sealed Handicap.—Sterling Bros' Esme 1, Warmington Bros' Rona W 2, G. F.
