DANUBIAN PROTOCOLS
AUSTRIA’S UNDERTAKING. NOTHING IN CONFLICT. (British Official Wireless). (Received 9 a.m.) RUGBY, March 10. The signature in .Rome to political and economic protocols between Italy, Austria and Hungary was referred to in the House of Common's today. A question was asked regarding their bearing on the undertaking given by Austria in the 1022 protocol not to alienate her independence and to abstain from any negotiations and from any engagements calculated directly or indirectly to compromise her independence.
The Foreign Minister, Sir .John Simon, in reply, said lie had not yet received the .full text of the protocols, hut so far as he was aware at present they did not conflict with the undert.‘/.lcings given' by Austria in the 1022 protocol.
