STOCK ARRIVING. ROYAL SHOW PREPARATIONS. READY FOR THURSDAY. (Special to "Northern Advocate.") AUCKLAND, This Day. After the first arrival of pedigree stock yesterday for the Royal Show, which opens on Thursday at the Epsom Show grounds, every goods train has been bringing more and more consignments of the record numbers that have been entered in almost every class on the Show. Over 300 animals arrived yesterday from the south, some of the exhibitors coming from so far away as Otago. .Especially heavy consignments today j included stock from the North, Bay of I Plenty, and Taranaki. The animals I which left Gisborne on Sunday by j motor lorries, are due to arrive this I evening. The staff of the Agricultural I ami Pastoral Association, assisted by many stock attendants, are 1 working overtime to get the animals billeted in the various stalls, paddocks and pens that have been provided for them, not only at the Show grounds, but also on ' many properties in the vicinity. Every effort is being made to take the animals away from the station as soon" as they arrive, and few of them have (•) wait long in their trucks. The first collection of pedigree sto'dc is expected to bo the finest over gathered together for any one show in the Dominion, and no pains have been j spared to make this, the first Royal Show to bo hold in Auckland sinclc .1020, the best that has yet been hold in Now Zealand. Among the many model attractions that have boon planned for the entertainment of the public is a floodlight gymkana on the first night. During the evening thoroughbred steeplechasers will be seen in action over the jumps, illuminated by the powerful flood lights. Other equestrian events, exhibitions of tree belling by master New Zealand bush' men, Highland dancing and a physical culture display by an Auckland girls’ athletic Club will be included in t,hii programme.
