Hansen, of Kohukohu, "has returned after spending a few weeks’ holiday in Auckland. , Mr. and Mrs. King-don, of Epsom, Auckland, are on a visit to their son, Mr. J. Kingdon, of Kohukohu. I Mr. J. Fitzgerald, of Cambridge, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. Kind'don t , Kohukohu. Mr. Joll has returned after holidaying in the south, to take up his duties at the Te Hau Hau School. Mrs. J. N. Dougherty has returned home after an extended holiday." Mr, H. W. Williams, of Kohukohu, has returned home from Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. James McGrath, Broadwood, who have been on a holiday visit to Auckland, haw returned.

Mrs. L. V. Canty, Omahuta, has returned home from a holiday in the south.

The many European and Maori friends of the Rev. Piripi Rakena, Maori Methodist Minister of Mangamuka, will regret to learn that he has been taken ill 'and is at his daughter’s residence Rangiahua. Mr. Rakena has ministered in the Hokianga during the past 50 years, and is greatly respected by all 'sections of the community.

Mrs. J. Hill, of Horeke, is making a splendid recovery from her critical operation in the Whangarei Hospital. Her mother, Mrs. A. P. Blundell, who has been in close attendance during the past few months, has returned home.

Mrs. Land, of New Plymouth, mother of Mr. W. Land, Rangiahua, has been spending a pleasant holiday in Hokianga. She left for home during, the week-end. Mrs. H. Rogers, Runaruna, who has been on a visit to Christchurch, accompanied, by her two sons, Bryant and Henery, has returned. The two sons were left in Whangarei to be educated.

Master Ivan Martin, Runaruna, was taken to the Whangarei High School during the week-end by his mother, Mrs. Harold Martin. Mr. L. G. Harris, of Makarika, East Coast, who has been appointed in charge of the Rangiahua School, took up his duties this week. Mr. and Mrs. Hyde, who have been spending several weeks’ holiday with relatives in Broadwood, returned to Auckland.

Mr. R. R. Martin, of the Te Karae camp, received word of the death of his mother in Auckland during the week-end.

Mr. W. Land, Rangiahua, is on a visit to Auckland.
