MOTOR CAMPS

I NORTHERN ORGANISATION. I ! DATA BEING COMPILED. : TREND OF TOURIST TRAFFIC. i (Per Press Association —‘‘oDyrlght.j AUCKLAND, This Day. 'The work in connection with the organisation of motor camps throughout the Northland territory, which is to be a feature of A.A. activities in preparation for next summer’s touring will be continued this week, when the tonring manager will visit the Far North, The data already obtained is being compiled into concise form, and will be issued in the near future in a small • pamphlet map, with Whangarei as headquarters. This will contain particulars of the East Const beaches, indicating whether -a water supply is available, and where organised motor camps are to be established. The trend of holiday traffic, particularly for those who favour the seaside, is definitely towards the North, and it is in anticipation of a further increase in tourist traffic for 1935 that the A.A. is preparing. : A portion of the main highway between Auckland and Helensville on the Waitakere Road is to bo closed for traffic from tomorrow morning. A bridge is to be constructed near Taupaki, and for a short distance traffic will be required to detour to the west. •The A.A, is placing required signs in position. A very great improvement in road alignment has been effected by the provision of a new bridge at Kaukapakapa at the junction of the Helens ville-Port Albert and Waiwera Roads. In place of the old winding descent and sharp-angled approach to a bridge, the new filling provides a straight road with wide open visiJ|lity.
