SIAM RISING
REBELS HOLD UPPER HAND. CAN CAPTURE BANGKOK. PUBLIC APPRECIATION. {Received 0 a.m.) iSINGAPORE, October 17. : Intelligent British opinion regards the Siamese rebels’chances favourably and considers that their success would be welcomed by the population. The view is expressed that the people of Siam are inclined to blame the present Government for the declining trade of the past year. Rebel aeroplanes are flying over Bangkok. The rebels say they could take the city in two days, but they are refraining from attacking because their friends are Avithin the capital. There is no railway communication from Malaya beyond 200 kilometres from the Malavan frontier.
