The reappearance of Mr E. G, Hosting in the streets of Whangarei yesterday afternoon savoured of a triumphal progress. Everyone was delighted to see. this, genial gentleman so much recovered from his recent illness.
The Board of Directors of the U.P.A. has promoted Mr, T. M. Hinkley, member of the Association’s staff and its Parliamentary reporter, to the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr. Lindsay .Bnick. The staff vacancy will be filled by another appointment earlv in October.
Mr L, Marchand, who .fudged, the daffodil section at the Horticultural Society’s Show yesterday, is an exresident. of Whangarei, where he lived until some twenty years ago/ He is now engaged in bulb culture at Henderson. Mr Marchand, who was staying at the Settlers’ Hotel, left Whangaroi today. ‘
