NEARLY HANGED IN ERROR
LAWYER MISTAKEN FOR SPY. ' Says the Warsaw correspondent of the London “News Chronicle”: A defending barrister narrowly escaped being hanged in mistake for a condemned spy at Warsaw this morning (June 0). After hanging the first of two spies, the Polish hangman, Braun, seized the lefending lawyer who had accompanied the first man. Mistaking him for the second spy, the hangman tried to blindfold the barrister, despite his protests. It was only at the last minute that the mistake was verified. , .
