BOUNTEOUS HARVEST
OUTLOOK IN BRITAIN. BEST FOR TEN YEARS. LONDON, July 17. The “Daily Express’’ says that British farmers are likely to have the best harvest for ten years. A total of 1,500,000 acres has been sow'n in wheat. Other sowings are: — Barley, 890,000 acres; pats, 1,580,000 acres; peas and beans, 270,000 acres; sugar beet, 356,000 acres (expected to average nine tons an acre); potatoes, 500,000 acres.
