AGED MOTORISTS
RENEWAL OF LICENSES. SPECIAL TEST IN SOME CASES. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Following a report by the chief traffic inspector, the City Council last night decided that motorists, advanced in years, when applying for renewals' of driving- licenses, may be required ,to pass a suitable test if the inspector considers it necessary,- • V V
The inspector said some old motorists were careful and efficient, but there might be others who developed disabilities which were not .evident, which rendered them physically unfit. As a safeguard, it appeared necessary that after, say (35 years- of age, applicants should be subject to-a driving test before the license was renewed. ,
