(From Our Own Correspondent.) Coming-of-Age Party. On Friday, June -2, Mr and Mrs VO Steel gave a very enjoyable evening in the hall, the occasion being the 21st birthday of their daughter, Clara. Manx friends were present from this and surrounding districts. Dancing was indulged in, excellent orchestral inusi ■ being supplied. During the evening a very dainty supper was served by the hostess. The 21 candles on the beautifully-iced ! irl’iday cake were then lit, and extinguished by the guest of honour. She then cut the cake, after which process it was served by her girl friends.

Mr Hillingdon, in a capable manner, proposed the toast of Miss Steel, t.i which all present responded in a heart v manner by singing “Auld bang Svnc ” and drinking the health of the esteem ed guest.

Tn proposing the toast of Mr and Mrs Steel, Mr Millington thanked them fo> the very enjoyable hours which their friends had been enabled to spend with them, Mr Oalpin replied on behalf of Mr and Mrs Steel.

Mr Swinbourne then railed on Miss Steel to arrept the sifts which had been brought by her many friends as a svmbol of the esteem in which she was held. Mr L. Low ably responded on Miss ■Stool's behalf.

After the parcels had been opened n. wonderful array of gifts was iv vealod, showing the high regard all have lor the recipient.
