Tho banns have been published in Lausanne for the marriage of ex-King Alfonso’s eldest son, the Infante Don Jaime, to a. Cuban, Seuorita do San Pedro. It is not known whether the union involves Don Jaime’s surrender of his potential rights to the Spanish throne, from which his father abdicated in April, 1021.
The announcement of' the engagement has caused surprise in London as it is known that the Prince suffers from haemophilia. The ex-King long ago warned him that he would be disinherited in the event of his marriage. The Prince is reported to have sai f d the royal rights counted as nothing to him, as he intended to act as an ordinary citizen.
