NEW YORK, May 1
Communists and other "Radicals throughout the* United States celebrated May Day in the traditional manner with parades, mass meetings and oratory. For the most, part the demonstrations were unusually free from violence.
The clay was treated in Chicago, however, by a series of five bombings in the down-town section. Those caused damage estimated at 1:10,000 dollars, mainly broken windows. There were no casualties.
