TODAY’S POLL

PUBLIC INTEREST MANIFESTED. STEADY STREAM OF “VOTERS, RESULTS THIS EVENING. The polling booths for the 1933 municipal elections were opened at 9 a.m. today, and all through the morning a steady stream of voters at the main booth at the Town Hall bore witness to the interest which the election has created.

The Town Hall dealt with most of the electors during the day, and things wore not so brisk at the outer booths. It is hard to make any forecast as to whether the vote this year will be heavier than at previous elections, but indications given during the day wore that there would he an increase. ■

The booths will close at 7 p.-m., and the chief returning officer, Mr A. D. Jack, hopes to ' have the Mayoralty count finalised by 7.30. It is expected that all the results will be known by about 8.30. _ Results will be displayed at the Town Hall, and will also be posted at the “Northern Advoeate” office.
