There were interjections from the gallery concerning the request made to the (dovermnent for an investigation of tlio Dominion’s currency system. These drew Mr Coates’ imminent on Douglas social credit system. deferring! to printed pamphlets, one of which he held In his hand, he said that one must always he somewhat sceptical of a man who commenced hy saying that if Ills scheme weio adopted there would follow prosperity, plenty of leisure, and so on. The speaker exposed what-he regarded as fallacies of the scheme, and said there was not one well-known financial authority who espoused the cause.
Answering Mr E. T. Donovan, the M'inister indicated that personally In* had no objection to an inquiry by a commission into the Dominion’s monetary system, but there had not yet been any general demand for such an inquiry. Alter the Minister had answered various other questions he was accorded a cordial vote of thanks.
