The course proper, with the poles 40 feet out from the rails, the inside grass track and plough were available at Avondale this .morning, and the going was excellent, though there was not a great deal of fast work done. The Course Proper. Prolyxo and Eager Rose jumped off together, just a shade in front of the half-mile post. They went from a stand, but Prolyxo soon put a break on Lager Rose and iinished well in front in 51s, Eager Rose taking 525. Prolyxo ran the last three furlongs in 375. Inside Grass. Del rain was going better than Gigantic at the end of live furlongs in 1.0. Bifynu was given an easy task over a similar distance, taking ElO, the last three furlongs being run in 38 3-ss. Hampton Park ran home from the dive furlongs poet in E 4. 2-3. He was under restraint throughout and did his work comfortably. Lady’s Boy cantered round to the throe furlongs post and ran home in 3Ss. Golden Sceptre covered half a. mile in 525. On The Plough. Whakapara ran the last five of his six furlongs in E2 4-5, doing hie work nicely, British Columbia finished in front of Alley over three furlongs in 38 4-ss. British Columbia went well.

Jonathan ami Limeon did strong work over a, round, running the last three' furlongs in 41 1-5.

Lordly Knight was. given easy work. So far no rider ha<-> been secured for him.
