The intention of the Health Department to close Kang George V Hospital, Rotorua, was intimated in a communication from Dr. Watt,. DirectorGeneral of Health, received at a special meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board. ' .

The department asked the board to assume full responsibility, for - hospital facilities, in- the Eptorua district.:; -

Mr Watt said the, grounds surrounding King' George V Hospital, and the large number of buildings erected when they institution functioned as a special orthopaedic hospital, made it to inaintain and unsuitable as a district; hospital.
