PROVINCIAL TITLE. SECOND ROUND RESULTS. SILK BEATS BUCKLEY. <Speclal to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day,

Two rounds of the Auckland provincial golf championship tourney were completed yesterday. There was some fine golf in the afternoon, the standard being high. Dr. Buckley, Whangarei, proved his undoubted ability by taking Silk to the 17th, and then, if, be had been consistent on the greens, ho might have reversed the result.

The Menzies-Smith match attracted a good deal of interest, and in winning Menzies played one of the best rounds ever seen at Middlemore. He went out in 36, and, playing splendid golf, went on to win 3 and 2. The second round results were: —

Lusk beat Wright, 4 and 2; Horton beat McCrystal; 2 and 1; Silk boat Buckley, 3 and 1; Menzies boat Smith, 3 and 2.

In the provincial handicap match results were as follows: —

First Round. —E. Bartleet beat A. Good, 7 and 6; J. M. Hussey beat F. Hazelden, 2 and 1; G. Coltman beat E. G. Tallis, 3 and 1; H. Plumley beat W. Colbeek, 2 and 1; E. T. Clark beat E. E. Beehau, 5 and 4; C. N, Jacobsen beat H. Tidmarsh at the 19th; .A, L. McLean beat N. Louisson, 3 and 2; J. K, Lusk beat T. Goudie, 4 and 3. Second Round—Hussey beat Bartleet, 2 and 1; Coltman beat Plumley, 6 and 4; Clark beat Jacobsen, 1 up; Lusk beat McLean, 5 and 3.

The morning bogey match resulted: L. Knight (8), 1 up;-J. H. Earle and J. F. Brown, 1 down.The best cards ip the medal match in the afternoon were:—T. Goudie, 81—9—72; J. H. Young, 79—5—74;,: W, 8.. Lusk, 89—-13—76; B. C. Jacobs, 90—11—76; L. Knight, 86—10—76.

* Semi 7 final Results. The Auckland Provincial golf championship semi-finals resulted:—R. Horton beat Lusk, 1 up; Silk beat Menzies, 1 up at the nineteenth.
