The weather was line for training a 1 Kllerslie this morning, but fog hung over the course early, which made timing rather difficult. How. ever, it eleared within half an houi alter work commenced, and conditions were then ideal. In view of the approach of Hie Auckland meeting mallei s livened up considerably, and the presence of a large number of visiting horse--; added considerable interest to Hie proceedings. The course proper, with the poles -10 feet out, was available and provided excellent going, while the tan and Xo. 5 grass tracks were also available.

Several good gallops were recorded, the fastest sprint of (he morning being eredited to Sunny Sky and Merry Damon, who sprinted five furlong.s on the course proper. The Quoni also

went particularly well on the same track. Jaloux registered the best gallop on the tan, his time for the round being a really good effort. The Course Proper, The first to work on the course proper were the stable mates Tout 1c Aloud and Gay Crest, who were companions over eeven furlongs, running the distance in 1.33 3-5, the final five furlongs taking, 1.5 .‘bo. There was not much between them al the finish, though thi“ three-year-old did his work impressively. Fracas ran a couple of furlongs along the back (from the five to the three) in 2-1. 4-os. Xarangapai was allotted five furlongs, which he completed in 1.3 3-5. He finished up liio task in- his usual style.

Gay Broney was doing better than Mahkill at the conclusion of six furlongs which occupied 1.22 2-5. The two-year-olds, Deputy Ruler and Glen Romney, sprinted mile in 52 2-ss. They both worked well and could have improved on the time. Sir A r al, Demylns, Court Haven and Echo Song were in that order after running seven furlongs in 1.35 3-5. They traversed the first half mile in ■>2 2-s<s and Sir Val was doing the best at the finish. Cricket Bat rushed over seven furlongs but was not timed. He was going easily at the finish.

The southerner Epigram, was a shade in front of Brampton with

Angie several lengths away over four fnrlongii in .14 2-ss. Past Passage and Concentrate were

companions over seven furlongs. They ran the first three in 31) .l-ss, four in ; 52 I -os and completed the full distance in 1.42 4-5. Past Passage who was on the outside and had the better ot the weights did her work well while Concentrate went pleasingly. The Bailway Handicap candidate, i ln- was running on strongly at the finish of half a mile which occupied 51 2-os. This horse is a picture of condition and should give a good account of himself at Ellei.slie next Honda v.

Wee Pat was timed to run five furlongs in 1.5 2-5. Kilmuir jumped off in front of her at the half mile post and finished np his work in 52 2-“ s. .Desert Star after running his first three furlongs in 42 2-ss, got to the end of six in 1.24 2,-5.

The best oprint of the morning was registered by Sunny Sky and Merry Damon, who wen- associated over five furlongs. They ran the first two in -4 2-os, and finished up in 1.2 4-5. Sunny Sky, who had the outside mulling, did her work very pleasingly and Merry Damon was responsible for a very good effort. Sunny Sky is carrying a bit of (surplus condition.

There was little between Llanoro and Taline Mea after running (lie last half miU* of their work in of! 3-ss.

Sunny Bachelor went alone over five furlongs i nd completed his task in 1.(1 2-5, the fuel three taking 39 4-ss. Ho wont very evenly throughout.

The Gup candidate .Taloux was sent a mile and a quarter, bis stable mate Azalea assisting him over the last round, which occupied 1.51 3-5, the last six furlongs taking 4.34 4-5. da.loux did his work in good style, but Azalea did not appear to handle Hie track well. Supreme Buler completed a round in 1.53 3-5, Baling King assisting him over the final seven furlongs, which occupied 1.3.5. Silver Scorn and Berate did pace Work separately on this track and they will probably be galloped tomorrow.
