SERVICES RECOGNISED
PRESENTATION TO MR Me ENNIS'.
A presentation, to mark the occasion of his retirement from the Public Works Department, was made to Mr J. E. McEnnis by the Whangarei Harbour Board today.
The chairman and members referred to Mr McEnnis as a zealous officer, and a man who put his work first and himself second. , Whenever approached for advice by the board, Mr McEnnis had always been willing to do so in a most helpful manner. Mr Finlayson handed to Mr McEnnis, on-behalf of the board, a collar-box made from a sunken log at Arapnni. Mr McEnnis, in his reply, referred to the friendly relationship which had existed between the board and his department. The board had supported him in a. very fine way. After the presentation the board mot the succeeding district engineer, Mr T R. Ronayno.
