EMPIRE DEFENCE
THE PACIFIC FACTOR
MR BRUCE’S MISSION,
BOLD PLAN PREDICTED
(Received 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, November G,
According to the “Sun,” Mr S. M. Bruce’s mission in London is partly concerned with delicate questions of high policy covering Australia’s part of the scheme of Empire defence and responsibility for defence in the Pacific. “When Mr Bruce returns to Australia in February,” says the paper, “it may be found that the Commonwealth will be looked to by other Empire countries for a plan of defence which will stagger some of those who at present are disconcerted at the state of our military resources.”
