The season of 1032-;!;’. will probably be the last in which W. Merritt will play cricket in New Zealand for some years. At the end of this season Merritt will return to England to play for the Rishton club, in the Lancashire Cricket League, and his intention at present is then to stay there for a few years, without returning to New Zealand for the English winter. He does not intend, however, 1o enter county cricket; he finds the league game more attractive.
