PROFESSIONS AND PUBLICITY

The American Dental Association, at its annual convention, sanctioned a plan of advertising. The national campaign has, however, been held up, but through committees the association will approve and co-operate with the advertising efforts of local and regional dental societies.

It is the declared object of the campaign to stimulate publicity on the part of dental organisations to instruct the public in modern methods of diet and care of the teeth. Advertising that is sponsored by professions with an aim to protect and serve the public is surely not undesirable and the professions which eared to be concerned with it would surely have every reason to congratulate themselves in performing a publicduty on what is proved to bo the most effective lines.
