Today the British Ambassador, Sir James Maelcay, " sent, a Note to the Foreign Minister, Scnor Saavedra Lamas, complaining that the Ottawa agreements are misunderstood in Argentina. He declared that Britain did not propose to establish quotas on meat imports. She merely intended to hold imports at their present levels for 18 months, during which time she would study all phases of the moat question, including the friendly consideration ot many representations Argentina wanted to make on the subject.
