SERIOUS OFFENCES
TWO MEN GUILTY.
(Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day
On a charge of attempting to commit an unnatural offence at Tararu, near Thames, on September H, William Dennerley Moore, prospector, aged ~>2 (Mr King), was found guilty in the Supreme Court by a jury yesterday. He was remanded by Mr Justice Herdman for sentence.
Charged with unlawful carnal knowledge, or, alternatively, indecent assault, Albert Edward Double, aged 57, labourer and fisherman (Mr Singer) stood his trial before Mr Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court yesterday. The offence was alleged to have been committed at Milford on April 26 on a girl of the age of 14 years and .10 months.
After half an hour’s retirement the jury found accused guilty of unlaw, ful carnal knowledge, and he was remanded for sentence.
