Semi-official returns in connection with the Literary Digest’s “straw” vote shows that Mr Franklin Roosevelt (Democrat) is leading in 41 States with 1,048,237 votes. ■Mr Hoover (Republican) has .1,008,274 votes. , The Socialist candidate has received 5 per cent, of the total.
