METHODIST BIBLE CLASSES
LABOUR DAY RALLIES. The Labour Day rallies arranged by the Methodist Bible Class Sub-Union proved as inspiring and popular as *ver. These rallies were held at Mititai, Waimate North and Takahue, near Victoria. Valley, the last mentioned function being of an interdenominational character. The attendances recorded ■were: Mititai 100, Waimate North S 3, and Takahue 173. The programme for the day embraced a combined meeting of welcome at 11 a.m., followed by study groups under appointed leaders. The theme of the study was “The Friendship of Jesus," the aim being to consider what the friendhsip of Jesus may mean for daily life. An animated and profitable discussion was followed 'by a reassembling of the delegates to consider the conclusions reached by the various groups.
The children were catered for .by a special address given to them in a separate meeting while the study circles were in progress. An adjournment was then made for lunch, after which a roll call of visiting delegates was recorded, and a report of the Methodist Bible Class .SubUnion activities was received.
Inspiring addresses based on the theme for the day were delivered by Rev. 11. P. Blamires at Mititai, Rev. E. D. Patchett, at Waimato North, and Rev. A. Mcßean, at Takahue. Organised games and sports were then enjoyed and the time for farewells- came all too quickly.
