A professional wrestling bout between Thompson and Detton ended suddenly in the fifth round, when Thompson was disqualified for persisting in rabbit-punching. At this stage each had one fall. Thompson successfully applied the Boston-crab in the third round. Detton obtained his fall in the fourth round with a body-press following an aeroplane-spin. The exhibition supplied plenty of action.

Three thousand witnessed a wrestling' match iu ■which Anton Koolman, middleweight champion of the Southern Hemisphere, outpointed Hughie Whitman, middleweight 'champion, of Australia. Koolman was the stronger of the pair, but the Australian-show-ed wonderful capacity, to take punishment. Each secured a fall, but the match was awarded to Koolman .on points.
