RELIABILITY TRIALS. MOTOR CYCLE THRILLS. The recent reliability trial of the Whangarei Motor Cycle Sports Club was a great success. The way was full of vicissitude and adventure, but the participants won through well. A spin of 150 miles was originally mapped out, but on account of the weather this was amended to 60 miles, with a stiff speed schedule, calling for open bore most of the Handling of machines under difficult conditions was tested at the Maungatapcrc deviation, where the hill was glassy after rain. Only one of the five participants, C. Squires, succeeded in keeping his seat uninterruptedly. Brake test observation were made at Maunu Hill. Eiders coasted from a certain point to a line across the road. The distance in which .they pulled up was then taken into consideration. Most of the riders found greatest difficulty in maintaining the pace required. The result was:—R. McKenzie (Velocette), lost five points, 1; R. Donaldson (New Hudson), lost eight points, 2; A. McAulay (8.5. A.), lost nine points, ?y.
