ANNUAL SHEEP SHOW
•SYDNEY’S BIG EVENT, NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES. (Received 0 a.m.) SYDNEY, Juno 23. The annual sheep show was opened today at the Sydney Show Grounds. The exhibits embraced aristocratic sheep from the three wool-growing slates and New Zealand. Mr D. Sidey, of Glenovis, Canterbury, obtained first and second prize*? for Southdown any age, and ewe, any age. The .judge commented that; they wore the best lot of SouthdownS’ ever exhibited in Sydney—just the type of sheep required for the fat lamb trade, the introduction of which, into Australia would enable growers here to compete on a new footing with their formidable rivals in New Zealand. Mr D. Grant, of Elloughton, Timaru, exhibited Border Leicosters and obtained first prize for a ram under.two years, shorn within six weeks of the show, and several second prizes.
