CARILLON COMPLETED
PAINTED BATTLESHIP GREY. fPer Afonin tfo7> —Ponyrffrht.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The work of installing the memorial carillon has been completed by Air A. IT. Townsend, the expert who was specially sent from London. With Us groups of bells in the upper and lower belfries, its massive steel frames, maze of wires, and most intricate, .delicate machinery, the carillon now presents one of the most interesting construe: tions in the Dominion. As both belfries are open to the weather, the whole of the framework and wires, bolts and clappers have been painted battleship grey, thus preserving them from 1 rust. The hells, being composed of an alloy of copper and tin, are rustless and will assume their own colours with age.
