At the High School laboratory yesterday, while engaged in flame tests, a boy named Kingston Braybrooke placed a piece of hot platinum wire in a mottle of salt, which he thought was calcium carbonate. An explosion occurred, and the glass bottle was blown to atoms.

Braybrooke and another pupil, Geoffrey Keller, were cut about the head .and arms. The boys were removed to hospital, and are progressing favourably.
