PROPELLER SHAFT BROKEN
MISHAP TO HAUTURU. (Special to "Northern Advocate.") NEW PLYMOUTH, Saturday. The starboard propeller shaft of the Northern Company's motor vessel Hauturu snapped when the vessel was leaving New Plymouth for Onehunga yesterday. At the time of the mishap the Hauturu was going astern aftei leaving the wharf. A steel bracket prevented the propeller from slipping into the water. The Hauturu returned to her berth in order to be fitted with a new shaft, which will be provided from Auckland.
