TRANSPORT PROBLEM
POSITION IN THE NORTH. DEPUTATION, TO MINISTER. (Special to "Northern Advocate.") KAIKOHE, This Day. , Replying to .a deputation from the Town Board and the Chamber of Commerce regarding the necessity for coordination between, road and rail transport, the, Minister of Railways, the Hon. W. A. Veiteh, said he would note the deputation's assertions. Not only was the local railway line suffering severely from unreasonable and uneconomical road, transport, but .the additional burden it was imposing on the ratepayer for road maintenance was becoming unbearable. The Minister promised to place the facts before the Railways Board, which, he had no doubt, would give the matter its earnest consideration.
