The "Aftonbladt" reports that serious riots occurred at Leningrad,' where starving people stormed and demolished a great provision store and plundered it. Troops were called out, but refused to fire on the mob. The military commander then called out the Cheka troops, who fired upon the crowds and charged them . with bayonets. Many dead and wounded were left lying in the streets. The correspondent says the Cheka now is the only reliable force remaining to the Soviet authorities.
