The current year’s cash allocation for the Whangarei County Council is £3030. Of this amount £2IBB has already been authorised and requisitions put in total £I2BO, leaving a balance available of £450, .
The chairman commenting’ upon the position at the meeting of. yesterday, said calculations had been upset again by the Public Works Department spending money and charging against the county allocation without consulting the council at all. Mr Webb said, he would repeat the request to Mr MeEnnis that no allocation moneys be spent without consultation with the council. ’,
Further roads for inclusion on the estimates were recommended by riding members and supported by the council. Backblock Roads Fund. Annually a sum of about £25.000 is available for this district from the backblock roads grant. Councillors were asked to submit to the staff, for presentation to the Public Works Department, roads upon which money spent from the fund.
