Novice Handicap, of 85 sovs; one mile and a half.— (2) Great Fame, ser, 1; (4) Harvest Boy, scr, 2; (1) Golden Oaks, scr, 3. All started. Won by a length. Time.—3.37.
Waitaura Handicap,' of 90 sovs; on.? mile and n half. —(I) Worthy Queen, 12yds, 1; (3) El Merit, 24yds, 2; (8) Hue. Coronado, S4yds, 3. Summertime was scratched. Won by two lengths. Time—3.46 3-5.
Urcnui Handicap, of 95 sovs; two miles. —(.1) Impromptu, 12yds, 1; (3J Nelsonian, scr, 2; (2) Lady Author, 48yds, 3. Black Ballin, Mild Derby and Rita Thorpe were scratched. Won by three lengths. Time —4.44.
Taranaki Cup, of 225 sovs; two miles. —(1) Grand Canyon, ser, 1; (2) El Direct, 36yds, 2; (6) Wakefield, 36 yds, 3 All started. Won by threequarters of a length. Time —4.44 3-5.
STAR STRANGER SCRATCHED. (Special to “Northern Advocate.'”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Star Stranger was scratched at 2 p.m today for the Foley Memorial Handicap, to be run at Avondale on Saturday next.
