LAST OF THE MALABAR
RESIDUE AUCTIONED,
(Received 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, April The wreckage of the steamer Malabar was sold by auction today, on the orders of the underwriters, for £l4O. The cargo was bought for £4O. The vessel originally cost nearly £250,000. A Marine Court inquiry has been, opened concerning the loss of thj steamer. The proceedings today wefe private. Captain Leslie’s evidence was taken, and the Court adjourned.
