FATAL FALL OVER CLIFF
WIFE OF LORD HARDON. (Received 9,.1(5 a.m.) LONDON, May 5. A boy told the Brighton police, on Thursday that he had seen a. woman fall over a, 100-foot cliff at Black Rock. A search revealed the body of an elderly, well dressed woman, avlioso identity Avas a mystery till today, when Lord Harden identified her as his Avife. He said he could not account for her going to Brighton, She had been suffering from sleeplessness. Lord and Lady Harden had recently been liA’ing in poor circumstances in furnished apartments in the London suburb of Brixton, The "Daily Express ” reveals thatLord Harden has had an adventurous career, including doing manual Avork on the Australian goldfields. When he inherited the title there Avas not a penny piece attaching to it, and for some years he continued to be knoAvn as LaAvrence Palk. He Avent to Australia in the hope of rebuilding the family fortunes, after he had served in the Imperial Yeomanry in the South African War. When he made ntoney on the goldfields- lie Avent, to .Sydney, Avhere lie qualified as a mining engineer. He rejoined the army during the World War.
