ANGLO-EGYPTIAN TREATY

SUDAN DIFFICULTY,
(British Official Wireless.} (■Received 12.40 p.m.) RUGBY, May 5. The negotiations with the Egyptian delegation were resumed at the Foreign Office this evening. Mr Arthur Henderson, Foreign Secretary, was accompanied by Lord Thomson, Secretary for Air, Eord Passfield, Secretary for Do-
minions, Dr Hugh Dalton, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign 'Affairs, Sir Robert Vansittart, Permanent Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Sir Percy Loraine, High Commissioner in Egypt. Tho situation created by reference of the matter to the Government in Cairo by the Egyptian delegation was considered. After conversations lasting two and a half hours the negotiations were adjourned until tomorrow morning. It is understood that there is still difficulty over the Sudan and over one or two other points.
COMPLETE DEADLOCK. (Received 2,30 p,m.) LONDON, May 3. The Foreign Office announces that no solution has been found for the Egyptian deadlock, nor is any within sight.
